Another Poetic Offering

Hi everyone, today I'm posting a poem that I wrote a while back. I figured that I would share since it's paranormal related and Halloween is coming soon! Here it is!

Angel Face

My heart starts beating, and
I hear the world outside.
Something shakes my coffin.
Someone's smooth hands run over the wood.
Then more shaking occurs,
And I wonder who this could be.
Should I fear?
Have I been found?
The lid lifts off the coffin,
And what do I see,
But an angel's face come into view
Fear this beauty?
Underneath my flesh
Something shivers inside me.
Now I will taste
Of this sweet girl
Who awoke me.

I'd love to hear what you think!

A Poetic Offering

Hi everyone! I'm really sorry, but this week is so hectic for me. As my gift, I'll offer y'all a poem instead of a blog. I know it's not as good as listening to me talk about my opinion on witchcraft and magic, but... *sigh* Maybe in the future I'll revisit the subject. =) Enjoy and let me know what you think of the poem!
----

Viking Maiden

The feminine voice flowed through the speakers
holding a mixture of feelings
to it. Innocence and purity poured through

like a virgin on her wedding night.
Sadness splashed from her voice
like tears falling from tender eyelashes.
Sexiness was like a caress against my eardrums.

Loneliness reached out like a hurting heart.
Her voice held a calling for more
that couldn’t be quenched. Accompanying her

was the hard, pounding beat of drums
like a heart pulsing to survive
and the ripping sound of guitars,
like nails scraping a chalkboard. The combination

seemed odd, but together they held power,
beauty, and anguish.
She lured me into her world like a siren, and told

of a foreign land, tales of love, and sea voyages
of long ago.
It took me back to the time of the Vikings,
and made me experience the Norse saga.

(Poem) That Fated Night by Sarah Mäkelä

I thought that I'd post a fun poem today. Tell me what you think of it.
------

That Fated Night

One cold, cold night
I had quite a fright
While driving tonight
A large dog crossed my sight.

Without a warning
During the storming
That large dog a whining
I felt quite a pining
And went upon his gathering.

The dog in my care
I dare not despair
For I shall bear
This burden quite fair.

Inside my house
It is as quiet as a mouse
For I have no louse
Of a spouse
To disturb my house.

When I settle
I go on to mettle
With fixing my kettle
Of tea that I ettle
Though I still feel quite nettle.

My gaze shifts to the dog
But no more a dog
I see but a man with the glorious eyes of a bog
Who is definitely like no frog
I've seen nor like a hog.

He is indeed a beauty.

Poem by Sarah Mäkelä

Here is a poem I have written. Check it out, and I'd love to read any comments that you may have. =)

Red Zone

Blood pours down my nose
I try to pull back, but
It floods my throat,
choking me.
My eyes water, and
My mouth parts,
But no air escapes.
I’m trapped in this red zone
Waiting for a savior, and dying
For my next breath.

Innocence Lost- A Poem by Sierra

We've changed our story day to Sunday now to allow more time for responses to our Saturday contests. From now on, the story/poem that we post will be on Sunday and the contest winners will be announced on Tuesday. This will allow more people the chance to enter. So, without further ado, this week we are posting a poem written by Sierra.

Innocence Lost
by Sierra Wolfe

Monsters hide within my head
As if under a small child's bed
Only for me they do not go
As I get older, as I grow

They come and go without regret
To remind me of tales I can't forget
The secrets they share, utter truth
Horrors from my long gone youth

Wounds my mind tries to bury
Heavy weights my heart must carry
A trusted friend with shielded eyes
Whispering to me with sweetened lies

Fisted hands, as threatening dares
Mocking words that no one cares
Bruises long since healed on skin
Where no one knows they've ever been

Time has gone, years have flown
My mind has stilled, my body grown
A little girl, innocence lost
Was payment of the highest cost
